Pam Collins



I have worked within the field of human services since 1984. This includes 10 years as a qualified social worker working with individuals and families in distress, child protection, elderly people, and mental health. I also worked with profoundly deaf people. My interest was working with individuals and their distress so I retrained and have worked since 1996 as a Counsellor in Primary Care for the NHS, where I continue to work in GP Surgeries.

Additionally I run a successful private practice which I started in 2004. In private practice I see individuals for counselling and psychotherapy additionally I supervise other Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

I am an Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

I adhere to the strict Code of Ethics and Professional Practice of BACP.

My qualifications include a Combined Certificate in Counselling, and Diploma in Counselling from the Central School of Counselling and Therapy. These studies completed in 1998.

I hold a Professional Studies in Counselling Supervision at Graduate level from Leicester University completed in 2007.

I am BACP Accredited Specialist Counselling for Depression therapist under the Governments NICE initiative to Increase Access to Psychological Services (IAPT), qualifying in 2009.

I qualified as a Counselling for Depression Supervisor from Nottingham University in 2013.

I also hold a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sociology and Applied Social Studies and a Certificate of Qualification of Social Work from Newcastle-upon Tyne Polytechnic (now the University of Northumbria)

I continue to engage extensively in training and study ensuring my continuing professional development.
